I would like to thank all the advertisers, visitors, our business associates, service providers and media partners for making 2008 a memorable year for Nexus International. I also wish a very happy and prosperous year 2009 to all of you. Let the New Year fulfill all your unfulfilled dreams, goals and desires.
Based on the feedbacks I received from our dear visitors, patrons and friends, I write this unusual piece mainly for the reason that some of the users of this site could find life partners, marriage proposals and many others, like persons seeking friends for their individual needs like broadminded correspondence, dating, chatting, and even for finding friends for business purposes, academic, professional and most other purposes could get useful leads that helped them directly or indirectly. As the editor of this site, all I can say is that it is only natural that a relatively small site like this allows you to locate the right kind of persons, compared to very large sites that make your ads or profiles drown in an ocean of similar ads and profiles. That is the main reason why smaller sites are more relevant, effective and useful than large sites.
Nexus International had its own problems too. We have many limitations compared to the automated large sites where you can publish anything. All ads have to be manually edited before being published in this site. Though most our advertisers were kind enough to place properly worded ads, there were many ads that were either unsuitable for publishing in this site just because of words and phrases that are not legally allowed for a site like this, or some of the advertisers placed ads for promoting their business sites. Some others placed ads that made no sense at all, for example ads with self-invented abbreviations/codes, use of SMS type of words or text, bad spelling and grammar, etc. I tried my best to edit these ads and publish them. Unfortunately, I had to give up my efforts in some cases and ignore the ads. There were also periods when I could not publish any ads for many days just because editing some ads was a real headache. If these advertisers take a little care, it will save a lot of my time and all the ads can be published without any problems for anyone.
Yet another problem that gives me an instant headache is THE USE OF ALL CAPITAL LETTERS. As you all know, when all other ads are in the normal case, an ad in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS amounts to shouting and is an eyesore. So, please use capital letters only where they are required to be used.
Similarly, some people knowingly or unknowingly type their email IDs wrongly. These wrong IDs make your ads useless. Also they waste the time of others who try to contact you. So, be cooperative and take care while writing your ads. It helps you and all others.
Apart from the above small hiccups, Nexus International had a very nice year, as feedbacks show. I take this opportunity to thank you all for your kind cooperation and continued patronage. Let us all together make friendship more enjoyable. Make a New Year resolution to respect other friendship seekers and advertisers, not to hurt anyone’s sentiments or feelings and to make the world friendlier and more peaceful. It is possible through friendship.
